Iran poet Chaichian passes away in Tehran

Prominent Iranian poet Habibollah Chaichian has passed away of natural causes at his home in the Iranian capital city of Tehran.

The Iranian poet, who was mostly famous for his compositions on Islam’s Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his household, died on Thursday at 94-years-old.

Chaichian is also known by his pseudonym Hesan, and has composed poems on illustrious figures of Islam, including Imam Hussein (AS) and Imam Reza (AS).

For Imam Hussein (AS), a notable poem reads, "Emshab Shahadatnameh Oshagh Emza Mi-shavad" (tonight, martyr merit-letter of God-lovers are being signed).

For Imam Reza (AS), his poem reads, "Amadam ey Shaah Panaham Bedeh" (Here I have arrived your majesty, grant me asylum).

His funeral procession began at Tehran’s Shohaday-e Tajrish Hospital on Friday. Chaichian was buried in Tehran’s biggest cemetery, Behesht-e Zahra.
